Slice of Life - Day 108

While browsing my favorite blogs tonight I found a girl talking about using bleach as your ink while stamping. I thought that sounded so cool that I had to try it... so I made an "anniversary" card for Brendan. Our dating anniversary is coming up in May - 6 years! - and although now that we're married I know that we are supposed to celebrate that anniversary instead I still want to recognize the day that we started dating and began our adventure together.

The card is kind of girly - well more that kind of I guess - but I am sure he can handle one girly card. I usually try to make his cards more masculine but while trying this new technique I found it doesn't work well on all colors, and the color it seemed to work best on was these pinks... The two hearts are what I stamped with the bleach. It kind of "eats" away at the pigment in the paper and leaves you with this white-ish impression.

Nice to get my craft on again - it's been a while.

Slice of Life - Day 51

I just got home from Tim's, went and got a hot chocolate for me and a blueberry bagel for B... now I'm printing out photos of my Buckcherry weekend... hoping to find some mojo to actually scrap them. I have been feeling so lost lately when it comes to scrapbooking... I have such a desire to do it but every time I sit down to I get some weird mental block! I'm also chatting/checking the Buckcherry site... I spend a lot of my free time there and it is a total part of my "daily" life so its the perfect candidate for a photo for this blog... seeing as its supposed to be about daily life.

Slice of Life - Day 49

Things that are making me happy today:

• Clean (ish) Scraproom
• Buckcherry Wall (Canadian Dates announced, got tickets today!)
• Zimmie being my baby and needing to be where I am
• New Papa Roach Album (listening right now)
• Makeover of my scrapbook aisle at work that I decided to do at like 4 pm and had to work until 9pm by myself to finish... worth every extra minute, I actually like my aisle again :)
• Yummy lunch from Look Watts Cooking eaten by myself in the sunshine... hello Spring!

Yay for happy things!

Slice of Life - Day 46

Made some progress in my scrapbook room tonight, my desk is cleaned off, a couple piles sorted... the rest will be done tomorrow hopefully. It would be nice to be able to use this room for what it was intended for again someday soon.

Zim kept me company while I worked on it :)

Brendan remembered V-day this year... we had made a pact to "go small" and just buy each other something little, he asked for turtles (which he received x2) and I asked for my usual Starbucks mug to add to my ever growing collection which I received with the lovely addition of my favorite flowers all arranged in a vase while I was in the shower... sweet.

Slice of Life - Day 42

This is a glimpse of my scrapbook room... the piles on the desk are actually mimicked all around the room, on the floor, the dresser, the bench. I think it has officially qualified for "disaster" status. I am not even really quite sure how it got this way... but now that it has it has been causing me much anxiousness... I'm thinking maybe that by posting a photo if it I will be shamed into cleaning it up... I hoped to be well enough to do it tonight but unfortunately I am just not... maybe tomorrow... or Friday :)

Project 365 - Day 2

Today's photo is of a scrapbooking project that I have been working on tonite for my best friend. It is a little 6x6 mini book of photos of her and her boyfriend. It is actually part of her Christmas present but because I wasn't going to be seeing her over the holidays I procrastinated and am just getting it done now!
