Slice of Life - Day 76

Today was a great day... I got to sleep in late... read in bed for a while... then hung out on my computer for a bit... paid some bills online... Then Kalli got lost... somehow got out of our backyard and took off... I didn't know she was gone until I looked for her and realized she wasn't in the backyard anymore so quickly got dressed and ran out of the house realizing when I went to get her leash that she didn't even have her collar on that has our phone number on it because she had a bath the night before... so was freaking out. I found her by following her bark... she was barking at some random person on the next street.

When I came home I went in my garden and took some photos of some of my Spring flowers that are blooming. Then I went over to my sisters house for a visit and had a look at the progress they are making in their new house.. then we went for lunch and took Kalli to the dog park for a walk. After that Lani went to work and Samantha and I hung out at my place for a bit and then took my old car to the car wash and then vacuumed it out again because Kalli had gotten it quite muddy. Next we went to Canadian Tire and then to Timmies to get some hot chocolate's for me and the kids and coffee for Lani and Dan. Met Lani along her route to give her the coffee and then went back to their place where Dan, Jake, Sam and I hung out at the dining table and drank our Tim's. It was nice to spend some time with them all - often when I am there Jake is playing video games but he was in the mood to hang with us today which was cool. Soon he will be too "grown up" to hang with his aunt at all! Lani came home and made us hot dogs and potato cakes for dinner and then I made my way home. Finally cleaned up the party mess and then made a new Spring collage for my frame in the kitchen. I have been making "seasonal" artwork for a frame that hangs on my kitchen wall and it still had the Valentine's Day collage in it so I wanted to get it changed. This time I used yellow and green butterflies because the colors remind me of spring.

I am so looking forward to spring this year it seems...

Slice of Life - Day 75

Today B and I were both extremely lazy. We slept in til 1030 which means I got 13 hours of sleep! Sweet! Then we both did our own thing until about 3-ish when I finally decided I should get my butt moving and go pick up my paycheck and go to the bank. Brendan decided to stop playing W.O.W. and came with me. After grabbing my check we went to Royal Bank where I finally changed my name on my account to my married name and then sat down with my account manager and signed up for an RRSP. I used to be very good about contributing to an RRSP but stopped a couple years ago... and because I make very little at my job I haven't been saving either so at least this is a way for us to save a little. I am very happy to get it going again.
We went and had some lunch at Taco Del Mar because B had a craving for it and then went home and switched cars and took my car to the car wash for a much needed cleaning and vacuuming. Now that it is clean again I don't ever want to let Kalli in it which I know is impossible but it would be nice to keep it cleaner. I am going to do the dash and the windows tomorrow.

Finally after this we heard back from Brea that her and Chris and Kyah weren't going to be able to go for a walk after all so we went and changed cars again and got Kalli and headed to Dogwood to play... by the time we got there it was raining nicely so there was no one to play with so we went in the forest with the soccer ball and ran around... it started hailing like mad so we stayed in their for a long time trying to wait out the hail and when it stopped we went to the field and threw the tennis ball for her with the throwing thing so she would get nice and tired. :) Right when we were about to leave a chocolate lab showed up who Kalli took a major liking to so we stayed a bit longer letting them chase each other. Finally it was time to go and we headed home where B and Kalli took a shower instantly to try and get the mud off while I went and picked up dinner from Classic OP. Then it was time for 24!!

After that we watched some CSI and now its time for bed....

Slice of Life - Day 74

I was in the "cool kids" group at the party last night but tonite I am definitely in the "nerd" group... I am going to bed at 930pm... yup you read that right...930! That never ever happens in this house... but apparently the partying last night and the cleaning spree that lasted until 3am the night before have caught up with me... so nighty night night, Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Slice of Life - Day 73

Shoot! 4 minutes late! Tonight we had a St Patrick's Day Party at our house... There were 18 of us but split into two groups... one (the cool kids) in the kitchen doing shots all night and the other (the nerds) in the living room playing Rock Band. Many photos were taken, tons of laughs were heard and a good time was had by all (I think).

I chose a photo of Brea and I as my favorite photo of the day... just cause were adorable :)

Slice of Life - Day 72

Today was a weird day, woke up feeling like I had a ton of energy which was good because I had a lot to accomplish today... but then once I was actually up, I had energy but not for what I needed to do... only what I wanted to do :)

So instead of getting up and heading straight to the car wash place like I planned to get the Passat clean enough that I wouldn't be ashamed to be driving it I fiddled around on my laptop for around an hour... then took Kalli to Dogwood Park for a play. There weren't too many dogs there today so we just power walked around the forest a whole bunch and worked on some training.

I then took her home and went off in search of lunch, drove down to Timmies but decided that wasn't what I felt like to instead went and browsed around Pier One and Winners... I was a good girl and didn't buy anything... then I finally decided to go to Flying Wedge for lunch...

After I got home I thought that surely this was the time I would start doing what I needed to do but nope... instead I went in the back yard and played a bit with Kalli... then watched her and Zim chase each other around the backyard. I took a few shots of Zim and came inside and finally started cleaning the house.

I wasn't really feeling it at first but then finally got into it and became obsessed. I have been cleaning on and off for around the last 7 hours... washing the floors by hand, cleaned all the baseboards, washed down all the walls and cabinets in the kitchen. I sorted a bunch of stuff, finally worked on the wooden shelf I brought home like two weeks ago... cleaned the laundry room which for those of you who know how small it is probably sounds easy but oh man it was a pigsty... Tidied my scrapbook room... Then I washed some windows, washed all the covers for the couches and any throw cushions that have removable covers, washed the bedding from both the beds, cleaned the spare room, cleaned the linen closet where we keep our sheets and tablecloths (I cleaned the other linen closet last week). I even remembered to clean the top of the fridge which is rare for me because I always forget about it because I cant see that high... out of sight, out of mind!

Now I'm off to clean some more... :)

Slice of Life - Day 71

Today after work B, Kalli and I met Brea, Chris and Kyah at Crescent Park for a walk. We took a couple photos of the bff's and a couple videos and had a nice walk. Kalli has gotten better at chasing her ball and seems really love her walks with Kyah best of all :) I don't like Crescent Park as much as Dogwood Park personally but when Kalli is with Kyah doesn't seem to care where she is so that's good. One of the things that I don't like about Crescent Park is the ponds which are currently iced over and as some of you may know Kalli loves ice... so therefore loves the ponds... and walking out on them... yikes! It freaks me out! Other than that it was good so we will do a repeat performance tomorrow. Its kind of like play dates for kids! :)

Slice of Life - Day 70

Went out to Vancouver tonight to show B's new Jeep off to the parents... they liked it :) We went for Sushi... then for a drive up to UBC and back so Paul could get a chance to drive B's new car... once we got back to Paul's place the boys stood around and inspected all aspects of the car... then we decided to load Christina's Entertainment Cabinet into the back of it and bring it home seeing as Paul needed it moved from his garage due to some work being done in there. While we were driving home B had an insatiable need for something yummy to drink so we stopped at a 7-11... the place creeped me out and I was staring at everyone who came in wondering if they had a big huge gun hidden under their coat that they were going to pull out any second. Fortunately that didn't happen however I did watch some kids shoplifting 3 jumbo bags of peanut M&M's... I gave the clerk a little nod and she nodded back at me as if to say "Oh ya... I see what's going on", then she pressed a buzzer so the door would lock and they couldn't run and then I started wondering if these little preteen "starter" hoodlums were hiding big huge guns under their jackets that they were going to pull out any second... and so I became quite joyous when B was finally done washing his hands and picking out his 24 5¢ candies so that we could pay and get buzzed out of the freaking place and go back home to White Rock where I only occasionally look at people and wonder if they have big huge guns hidden under their coats.

After this rambling odd post I am wondering if maybe drinking giant Slurpees and eating lots of 5¢ candies was maybe not a good idea at 11pm at night... Hmmmmm.
